Frequently asked questions
How much does an SMS cost?
One credit per SMS part to an Australian mobile. Credits cost from 13.9c to 15c each depending on the pack: 200 for $30, 345 for $50, 500 for $70 or 720 for $100.
Is there a contract or monthly fee?
No. You buy credits when you need them and there are no monthly or setup fees.
Do credits expire?
Credit generally does not expire. Under our terms, credit that has not been used may expire 12 months after your last top-up.
How long can a message be?
A standard SMS is 160 characters. Longer messages are sent in parts of 153 characters (up to 6 parts), and each part uses a credit. With emoji or non-English characters the limit is 70 characters per SMS.
How quickly are messages delivered?
Most messages reach Australian mobiles within seconds. Your sent history shows each message's delivery status.
Can people reply to my messages?
Not at the moment: replies are not delivered to your txtonline account. If you want replies, send from your own mobile number so people can text or call you back directly.
Who do my messages come from?
From your own mobile number, which we confirm with a code when you sign up, or from our shared number. Business names are available on request; contact us to discuss.
Can I send to a whole group?
Yes. Keep contacts and groups in your account, or paste up to 500 numbers, and send now or schedule it for later.
Can I send internationally?
Yes, to New Zealand, the UK, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Germany, Sri Lanka and Serbia at 1.5 credits per SMS part. Other countries on request.
How do I pay?
By card through PayPal (credits are added automatically, usually within a minute) or by bank transfer (added within one business day).
Why does my account need approval?
We check every new account by hand to keep spammers and scammers off the service, which protects delivery for everyone. It's normally done within one business day.
Is there an API?
Not for new customers at the moment. Contact us if you need to send from your own software.
